Today I watched two videos
that representing two different thoughts about education. Most of all a liked
the idea of Sugata Mitra, I want to dedicate this post to his idea of school in
the cloud. You can follow this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3jYVe1RGaU&x-yt-ts=1422579428&x-yt-cl=85114404#t=1330 and make your own
conclusions.
The basement of his theory is
that education standards are
obsolete. They were created 300 years ago in the times of British Empire. Nowadays,
all have right to education but many
children have no access to education.
Mr. Mitra says that decision is as easy
as ABC. The aim of education is
not to create bookworms, which will have their noses in a book in order to pass their exams excellent. The task is
to encourage students to work for knowledge, not for grades. Educational system
that exist now produces identical people, as a result, they do identical job
and make next generation of identical people.
Cloud school offers more creativity. It does not mean that you can skip classes or sleep during lessons. The accent is made on
practise. All of us need practise to
improve our skills. Experience come with
practise too. Undoubtedly, practise
makes perfect. You can ask someone who achieved success in some sphere of
life, and I am sure, he/she will tell you that it takes years of practise. The only way to practise your skills at
school is homework. When you do your homework and then correct it with your classmates, you
get enormous benefits and your final
marks will be good even without revising
before exam.
Just to compare ideas of two videos
